The Amazing Castle

The Children's Museum of Southern Minnesota is pleased to bring the families of our region a major traveling exhibit from the children's museum in Saint Paul. The Amazing Castle is a 2,000 square foot traveling exhibit open to the public in a donated storefront at Madison East Shopping Center November 19, 2009 through May 7, 2010.

Welcome to The Amazing Castle! As visitors explore The Amazing Castle and its eight themed areas, they are introduced to seven storybook characters who are part of the castle community. From entertaining to sewing, each character has a special role. As they move through the castle, village visitors playfully explore the interconnectedness of community members in a setting inspired by fantasy and history. Children don costumes and role-play lords and ladies or castle villagers. Visitors can work in the Royal Workshops with "Trim the Tailor" or "Gable the Carpenter." They pick vegetables in the garden, tote them to the Great Hall to cook up a royal meal and visit the tower to wake "Herald," the sleeping dragon!
