Welcome back to the Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota! When you visit after the Museum reopens, there will be some new procedures and policies in place during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic for the health and safety of our guests and staff. We encourage you to read through our FAQs below so you and your family know what you’ll experience upon arrival.
Q: When is the Museum open?
A: CMSM has now resumed our usual (pre-COVID) operating hours:
- Sunday: 9am-4pm
- Monday: Closed
- Tuesday: 9am-4pm
- Wednesday: 9am-4pm
- Thursday: 9am-7pm
- Friday: 9am-4pm
- Saturday: 9am-4pm

Q: What is your mask policy?
A: 6/22/21 UPDATE: The CMSM is following the recommendation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention regarding masks:
- Fully vaccinated persons can participate in indoor and outdoor activities, large or small, without wearing a mask or physical distancing.
- Unvaccinated people are at risk of mild or severe illness, death, and risk of spreading the disease to others and are advised to continue to wear masks and socially distance.
Museum staff will continue to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Q: What kinds of cleaning protocols is the Museum undertaking due to COVID-19?
A: The Museum prides itself on its high standards as a clean space for children and families to play. We will be ramping up our daily disinfecting of high-touch surfaces and our after-hours deep cleaning of all loose parts, props and exhibits to keep our Museum safe for families and staff.
