Parachute Play | CMSMatHome

Parachute Play kids activity from the Children's Museum of Southern Minnesota

It’s time for a #CMSMatHome Toddler Wednesday session!

Children always have fun with parachute play, and it’s a super-easy activity to do at home.

Use a light blanket or sheet, gather some soft toys or balls, and all members of your household (the more, the merrier!). Place your toys on the sheet and have each person hold onto the side of the sheet. Play with the movement of your bodies as you raise and lower the sheet.

Talk about how things move when the sheet goes up and down fast, and what happens when you change the pace. How many things fall off the sheet? How many stay on? Move your parachute in different ways and compare what happens.
