Branch Weaving | CMSMatHome

Good morning from #CMSMatHome!

Find a Y-shaped fallen branch in your yard and gather some yarn, fabric scraps, dried grasses, pinecones, feathers, or tassles.

Tie a long piece of yarn to one side of the top of the Y, then cross over to the other side of it, and wrap tightly. Repeat this process until you’re about an inch away from where the two branches join. This is called the warp.

Weave the fabric strips or dried grasses by pulling them over and under the warp you created. Weave tightly and cover all of your warp, or make a loose work of art and add pinecones, other small sticks, beads, feathers, or tassles.
