Fire Safety Education Day | FREE Admission
The Children‘s Museum of Southern Minnesota will host a Free Family Play day highlighting Fire Safety Education Day on Saturday, September 14 .
During this event, children will learn what to do in the event of a fire, become familiar with emergency equipment and gear, and learn fire safety practices. Several area fire departments will have fire trucks and emergency vehicles on site for kids to explore, as well as the smoke simulator house and Sparky The Fire Safety Dog. Throughout the day we will have activities, safety demos, and giveaways.
The Museum will be open from 9-4 and the outdoor Fire Safety event is from 9-2.
Fire Truck Alley
Fire trucks, ambulances, and first responder vehicles from area communities will be on display adjacent to CMSM for children to explore. Here, they will also learn why each fire department has different colored emergency vehicles.
Smoke Simulator House
The Smoke Simulator House teaches children and families how quickly a home can fill with smoke and the importance of acting quickly in an emergency situation.
Play Zone
The Fire Fighter Relay Race for kids, hosted by JP Fitness, will give children the chance to experience the excitement of being a firefighter.
Car Seat Safety
Join us for our Car Seat Safety Demos, where experts will teach you how to properly install and use car seats to keep your little ones safe on the road. Don’t miss this essential, hands-on event for all parents and caregivers!
Fire Extinguisher Simulator
Learn how to handle emergencies confidently and effectively in a safe, controlled environment. Perfect for ages 14+, this interactive demonstration teaches essential fire safety skills while providing hands-on practice.
Giveaways
Several stations will be giving out goodies, plus guests can sign up for door prizes such as fire extinguishers and smoke detectors!
